Family Traditions

One of my favorite family traditions is going up to my parents cabin during Labor Day. I love the cabin this time of year because I get a break from the 100 degree weather and get to spend some time outdoors. This year we had amazing weather! We were able to play most of the day on Saturday out on the quads then that afternoon a storm rolled in and dumped a ton of water. Brody and Tanner had a blast playing in the rain while the rest of us sat on the porch enjoying the rain and the cooler temps. It was fun watching Brody mimic every action Tanner made. He sure does look up to that kid. I am just glad that Tanner is such a sweet boy and someone I WANT Brody to be like. Once the rain hit the temperature dropped close to 20 degrees outside and from that time on it was actually chilly. I left Rex in his PJ's since they were actually long sleeved and pants. I didn't pack for cold weather at all. During a small break from the rain Guy and Mike decided that we needed some apple cobbler. It was entertaining to watch them making it in the rain. As soon as they brought the dutch oven into the cabin I was so glad they decided to make it because it tasted AMAZING. On Sunday it rained all afternoon and well into the night. The dads and kids all went on a ride up to Mormon Mountain right before the storm hit and you could say they came back a little wet. We almost let them take Rex and Crew but thought it was a little to cold for them. When it started pouring we were glad the babies didn't join in on the fun. The kids all had a blast playing with cousins and grandma and grandpa. I loved the rain and could have stayed up there forever.
