Last week if you asked me what I wanted for Christmas I would have said a baby! Well on Sunday I got what I wanted! Colby Douglas Curtis was born Sunday December 19th at 9:12 pm. He weighed 8lbs. 7oz. and was 22 inches long. His birth was kind of a funny story. Last Friday the hospital called me and asked if I wanted to be induced early and I eagerly said yes not wanting to wait until my scheduled time of the 22nd. Well shortly after they called they then told me that they had filled up but that I was on a list if things got slow again. To say I was disappointed would be a HUGE understatement. I didn't hear from the Friday or Saturday and right before church I asked Mike to bring his phone just in case. Well during the third hour of church Mike got a call and off we went. Everyone at church thought we left early because Rex had peed his pants. This labor was by far the easiest and fastest I went from a 5 to a 10 in less than 10 min. and I hardly had to push for the little guy to come out.
We are so excited to have him home in time to celebrate Christmas with us. The kids all adore him and are willing to help hold him and fetch diapers for me.
Having a baby in the house during Christmas really does bring a new understanding to the true meaning of Christmas.
