First Day of School

It was July 25 and still 110 degrees outside but that doesn't stop us from heading back to school. I was not ready for school to start. A new charter school was built just down the street and I was having a really hard time deciding where my children should go. I love our neighborhood public school I feel that my boys have had amazing teachers and learned so much but, most of the boys from our ward were now going to the charter school and I was worried that Tate would have a hard time finding new friends. I really had to trust my faith and decided that for now the public school was where my kids should be. So far so good. Tate loves leaving with Brody in the morning and having lunch at school. Our old Stake Primary President is his substitute teacher for the first 9 weeks and I love her. Brody still loves everything about school. Just yesterday I got this email from Brody's teacher, "Hi! I just wanted to let you know that Brody is such a sweet boy and very bright! I am really happy he is in my class this year! He is doing great in second grade! Have a great week!" I try to teach my kids to be respectful and well behaved in class and it really does make me feel good when a teacher lets me know that they really are listening. We were a little late getting out the door and Brody did not want to wait to take a picture.
After school, I love how Brody just tells me everything is great everyday whereas Tate will give me more of the play by play.
